I enjoyed listening to the speakers in Sacrament meeting. One lesson about tithing was, "If Heavenly gave you ten oranges wouldn't you be willing to give Him one back? And when you give that orange back, He'll make orange juice and give it to you." The debt we have to our Heavenly Father is great. Only one can pay the debt - the Lord Jesus Christ. He expects us to keep the commandments. The only thing we have to really give back to God is our agency. Everything else is already His. Through our agency we can pay tithing, and keep other commandments, so in a sense we can give some things to God, but the final element that is uniquely ours is our will...I was listening to a Devotional address by a Jewish Senator who doesn't belong to our faith and he said, "The Church of Latter-day Saints" rather than "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" and I wonder the message that he and others in the world are getting from our faith. This name of Jesus Christ is left out by many in the world, but it is the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ on the earth today, and I am thankful to belong to it. I am making a determination right now to declare his name, that the world may know it. That they may know that we are more than the church of latter-day saints, but rather, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
