I went to church at my home ward and took the sacrament and then went to church in the Union Fort 9th branch and took the sacrament there in remembrance of Jesus Christ my Redeemer. The lesson in priesthood meeting was about George Albert Smith's love and the need we have to love our brothers and sisters no matter what the circumstances. In Sunday school, the lesson was about things concerning the tree of life and Lehi's vision of it. Moses was mentioned in one of the talks in sacrament meeting as well as Job being mentioned. I read about Enoch in the Pearl of Great Price and Moses in the Bible with their concerns about being slow of speech and I thought of how I could relates to that and what the Lord expected of them. They did go and do the things the Lord told them to do and were very powerful prophets. Maybe some day the Lord can make me a powerful instrument in His hands. In both sacrament meetings we sang "The Spirit of God" As a ward, our branch president or bishop comlimented us on how we sang that hymn. He said he didn't think he had heard it sung that well since the time when he was a missionary! It is a large singles branch. They often have to quiet us down in the chapel because of all the talking previous to the start of the meeting. During the sacrament meeting and especially at the passing of the sacrament however, it is very quiet - which I like. I thought of Jesus and how the nails were driven through his hands and feet between the bones, for the scriptures say not a bone of Him was broken and I thought of how incomprehensible the pain must have been - not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. The scriptures say He suffered the pains of all men, women, and children who belong to the family of Adam. How tremendous! I love my Savior for what He has done for me and will do in the end in conquering death and bringing to pass the resurrection.
