Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He lives today as our resurrected Savior.

This testimony is from the teachings of President George Albert Smith who served as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from May 21, 1945 to April 4, 1951.

"I know as I know that I live that He was the Son of God, that through him and through him only will we gain exaltation in the celestial kingdom and all those who follow in his footsteps and live according to the teachings that He gave will be happy in this life and will prepare for themselves a mansion in the Celestial Kingdom, where they will dwell with him forever...He was indeed the Son of God. He labored among [the people] in love and kindness; but they cast his name out as evil...He was the Son of God, and did have the right to speak in the name of the Father. The truths He brought to the earth came from the Father; and though they nailed Him to the cross, though they placed upon His head a plaited crown of thorns, and put the mock scepter in His hands, though they spilled his blood with the cruel spear, yet the word that He delivered to them was the word of the Lord and He was indeed the Son of God."

"Not only do we believe that Jesus of Nazareth lived on the earth, but we believe that He still lives, not as an essence, not as something incorporeal or intangible, but we believe in him as an exalted man; for he arose with the same body that was laid in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathaea, the same body that was ministered to by those who loved him. The same Jesus Christ who came from the tomb, brought with him that body that was purified and cleansed,...and he took it with him as he dissapeared from the gaze of humanity at Jerusalem when the two men in white raiment said, 'As you see him go, so likewise will he return again.'"

I know that President George Albert Smith was also a prophet of God. I am thankful for his words that we are studying in Church this year. I would like to bear my testimony of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. He is my personal Savior and Redeemer. I love Him for what he has done for me. He was despised and rejected of men, yet went about doing good and ultimately was crucified for the sins of the world, and all these things they did to him because they knew not the Father. The Father loves the Son and suffered the people to do this according to their evil and foolish ways. I know also that He was resurrected for all mankind. I have read the Book of Mormon faithfully and through the Spirit have gained this knowledge. I thank Him in advance and express my love to Him for His resurrection for me personally. I hope others will know that I know that He lives and loves each of us and will reward us according to our works and faith and, most importantly, according to his abundant generosity and goodness towards us, and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
