Brigham Young, second prophet and President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has declared:

"All the difference between Jesus Christ and any other man that ever lived on the earth, from the days of Adam until now, is simply this, the Father, after He had once been in the flesh, and lived as we live, obtained His exaltation, attained to thrones, gained the ascendancy over principalities and powers, and had the knowledge and power to create - to bring forth and orgainze the elements upon natural principles....When the time came that His first-born, the Saviour, should come in to the world and take a tabernacle, the Father came Himself and favoured that spirit with a tabernacle instead of letting any other man do it. The Saviour was begotten by the Father of His spirit, by the same Being who is the Father of our spirits, and that is all the organic difference between Jesus Christ and you and me.... I know my heavenly Father and Jesus Christ whom He has sent, and this is eternal life."

"I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the great I Am who came in the meridian of time and lived in Jerusalem and in the regions round about. He is my Savior and Redeemer, my Lord and my God. He is at the head of His Church which is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has revealed himself to Latter-day prophets. I have this testimony. I love Him. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
